Welcome to the California Green Portal hosted on The CA Green Portal’s contains detailed capabilities profiles of California companies, federal research labs, university research centers, and private research centers across the state of California.

The Connectory Green Portal is built upon the infrastructure of the Network, an existing, proven searchable platform accessible to all economic and workforce development and education stakeholders. The main platform has, for almost 10 years, contained capabilities summaries of U.S. industry and technology companies across all industries at every level of the supply chain.

The CA Green Portal is one element of a multi-program initiative undertaken by the California Green Workforce Coalition – San Diego. an element of the California Clean Energy Workforce Training Program. Stakeholder organizations include the San Diego Workforce Partnership, the California Center for Sustainable Energy (CCSE), and the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District (GCCCD).

Through the support of Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and State Energy Program (SEP) dollars, Cuyamaca College funded the development of the California Green Portal. This partnership is critical to meeting the needs of unemployed, underemployed, and dislocated workers who are interested in employment or education in green industries. The portal will provide connections between the workforce, training and employment. The California Green Portal, although started in San Diego, serves a statewide need. The information and data available through the portal can also serve industry by providing research and data on hidden job markets and potential areas of interest.

Next 10’s Many Shades of Green

For purposes of the California Green Portal, a company or other asset is assigned to the portal if it self-identifies that its customer base (market share for companies and mission for public sector entities) includes one of five Green Business segments aggregated from Next 10’s Many Shades of Green report (2010). Reviews of profile content ensure that the self-identification in Green industry is supportable.
